Steve Smith Scores A Hat Trick At
Ladies Night!

Saturday 16th February, saw us enjoy another fantastically well attended Ladies Night at the Hunters Meet Restaurant.

Congratulations to all of the winners of last years events and particularly Steve Smith who won the Presidents Putters, Most Improved Player and Player of the Year. Steve, who unfortunately was unable to attend through embarrassment, did however send three beautiful young ladies up to collect his trophies.
The evening also saw the 'Passing of the Bell' from last years Captain Steve Lunn, to this years Captain John Doe. Our congratulations go to Steve Lunn on a fantastic year as Captain. Steve has worked very hard during 2007 for both the Society and his nominated charity. Steve was delighted to announce that through the Society's endeadours £8,290.00 was raised for The Teenage Cancer Trust.
Our thanks also go out to Laura, Emily and Helen for their help with the organisation of the Ladies Night and to Brendon and his team at Hunters Meet for the hreat service that went towards making the Ladies Night such a memorable evening.

A ditty by our president

When questioning a member of staff why something had not been done, the answer came back "Rome was not built in a day". Our president replied "It bloody would have been if Weston Homes had got the job!".

The Scratchit Winter TrophyScratchit Winter Cup

A determined effort from ex – captain Robin Stock saw him carry off the very first Scratchit Winter Trophy.  During a day which saw the forecast of rain hold off until late in the afternoon and on a course that was in remarkable condition given the recent weather.  Robin secured the new Scratchit Winter Trophy with 36 points playing off his stroke adjusted handicap of 6.  (it's still too high, I hear many of you shout!).

Robin commented that ‘he was honoured to be the very first winner of the new trophy', which is dedicated to our beloved and much missed Scratchit.

Robin can be seen holding the prized trophy, which Scratchit will no doubt be looking down on with a huge smile.

Well done to Robin! (whose handicap has now been cut to 4).
